Japanese wisdom that transforms your home's tap water into mellow water rich in natural minerals.
We carefully select only thick, fleshy moso bamboo that is at least four years old and grown without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers in our own bamboo forest of approximately 5 hectares located deep in the mountains of Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, which is environmentally unpolluted.
By managing everything from raw materials onwards, we are able to ensure safe and reliable quality.
No gas or heavy oil is used, and only natural firewood and bamboo are used as fuel.
Experienced charcoal makers carefully bake the charcoal in a traditional clay kiln, raising the temperature to 800-1000°C over the course of about a week.
Bamboo charcoal fired at high temperatures has few impurities and is hard, making it suitable for water purification and cooking.
Bamboo charcoal has countless tiny pores (measured in microns), and its surface area is said to be three to five times that of binchotan charcoal.
This porous structure adsorbs and removes chlorine, chlorine odor, and impurities contained in tap water.
At the same time, the bamboo absorbs natural minerals such as calcium, potassium, sodium, iron, and magnesium from the earth and dissolves into the water, allowing you to easily make smooth-tasting mineral water at home.
Simply add it to the rice cooker along with the rice and cook, and the mineral components of the bamboo charcoal and the far infrared effect will cook the rice into fluffy, delicious rice.
It suppresses the odor and yellowing that are typical of old rice, and also reduces discoloration when kept warm.
It will add more color to your daily meals.
Reusable bamboo charcoal is an eco-friendly option that reduces the use of disposable plastic bottles.
If you crush used bamboo charcoal into small pieces and mix it into the soil, it will act as a soil conditioner and help plants grow.
Bamboo grows quickly and is attracting attention as a sustainable resource that protects forest environments.
Q: Is there any preparation required before use?
A: Yes.
Before use, rinse with water and then boil for approximately 10 minutes to disinfect.
Wash with water only, without detergent.
Q: How long can it be used?
A: For drinking water (mineral water), it takes about 2 weeks, for removing chlorine from tap water it takes about 1 to 3 months, and for cooking rice it takes about 1 to 3 months (this depends on how often you use it).
Drying it in the sun about once a week will restore its adsorption power.
Q: What should I do if the effectiveness starts to decrease?
A: The effect can be restored by boiling and drying in the sun.
After repeating this process several times, if the effect starts to weaken, replace it with new bamboo charcoal.
Q: What should I do with the bamboo charcoal after I've finished using it?
A: If you crush it into small pieces and mix it into the soil for your garden or vegetable patch, you can use it as a soil conditioner.
You can also use it in your room, shoebox, or refrigerator to deodorize and regulate humidity.
Q: Do I need to use different ones for purifying water and cooking rice?
A: You can use it for either purpose, but if you use bamboo charcoal to cook rice, rice starch will adhere to it, so after use, rinse it lightly with water and dry it thoroughly.
"What is needed to produce safe, reliable, high-quality bamboo charcoal that is accepted by customers?"
Since our founding, we have faced this question and the answer we have arrived at is "to grow the bamboo that is the raw material for bamboo charcoal."
Bamboo Charcoal Village Ltd. was founded in 1997 in Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
They have their own bamboo forest of about 5 hectares deep in the mountains of Miyazaki, where the environment is unpolluted and the temperature is warm, and are a rare pottery manufacturer that handles everything from cultivating the moso bamboo that is the raw material to producing bamboo charcoal and then manufacturing the finished products.
The bamboo forest is JAS certified organic and is carefully cultivated using organic farming methods without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Only thick moso bamboo that is four years old or older and rich in minerals is selected.
The carefully harvested bamboo is dried naturally for at least three months and then smoked for a week.
Charcoal is made using traditional earthen kilns, which are difficult to control the temperature of.
No gas or heavy oil is used as fuel, only natural firewood and bamboo are used, and the temperature inside the kiln is raised to 800-1000 degrees over the course of about a week.
The final process, called "nerashi" and "hitomitome," is the most important moment that determines the quality of the bamboo charcoal.
Our skilled charcoal makers sharpen their five senses in pursuit of the best possible finish.
We also relentlessly pursue quality and safety.
Based on the technology and scientific data cultivated through joint research with the University of Miyazaki and the Miyazaki Prefectural Industrial Technology Center, we conduct bacterial tests for each production lot and regular tests for harmful substances.
Our products meet the strict quality standards of famous department stores such as Isetan Mitsukoshi and Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores, and we also export to overseas countries such as France and Singapore.
We are also working to create sustainable Satoyama based on the SDGs.
We aim to protect the forest environment by purchasing bamboo harvested from abandoned bamboo forests from local farmers, and to achieve "zero emissions" by making full use of all by-products produced during the manufacturing process.
Bamboo charcoal powder from Takecharnosato is a blend of artisanal skill and respect for nature.
Please use this excellent product, which combines Japanese tradition with the latest quality control, as part of your daily health routine.
