In Japan, the folk remedy of consuming charcoal to improve one's physical condition has been passed down since ancient times.
We have inherited this wisdom and continue to bring the highest quality bamboo charcoal powder, crafted with the skill and passion of a potter, to your table every day.
The raw material, Moso bamboo, is carefully selected from thick bamboo that is at least four years old and grown without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers in our own organic JAS-certified bamboo forest.
By baking at a high temperature of approximately 1000 degrees, we create safe, edible bamboo charcoal that does not contain tar.
It has been processed into ultra-fine particles (less than 10 microns), so when mixed into food or drinks, it will not get stuck in your throat and is tasteless and odorless, making it easy for anyone to use.
Deep in the mountains of Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture, a specialized manufacturer takes pride in producing this product, handling everything from bamboo cultivation to charcoal production and processing.
It meets the strict quality standards of department stores and is a trusted brand that is exported overseas, including to France.
Our vast bamboo forest, covering approximately 5 hectares, is certified organic.
Bamboo charcoal is made from safe ingredients that are grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, so you can enjoy it every day with peace of mind.
We use an earthenware kiln, which is difficult to control the temperature of, and bake the bread slowly at high temperatures of around 800 to 1000 degrees using only natural firewood and bamboo as fuel.
No gas or heavy oil is used, and the manufacturing process is environmentally friendly and in harmony with nature.
The ultra-fine particle processing with an average particle size of 10 μm or less (equivalent to passing through a 1000 mesh or more) allows it to be smoothly incorporated into cooking and baking.
Bamboo charcoal is characterized by its porous structure with countless tiny holes.
This structure gives it a very large surface area, and it has been used since ancient times to regulate the environment in Japanese homes and tea rooms.
This knowledge is now being put to use in modern times as food.
During the firing process, the calcium, potassium, iron, and other elements contained in the bamboo are concentrated.
Bamboo charcoal itself has a long history of use in environments where it comes into contact with water and air.

"What is needed to produce safe, reliable, high-quality bamboo charcoal that is accepted by customers?"
Since our founding, we have faced this question and the answer we have arrived at is "to grow the bamboo that is the raw material for bamboo charcoal."
Bamboo Charcoal Village Ltd. was founded in 1997 in Kunitomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture.
They have their own bamboo forest of about 5 hectares (about the size of one Tokyo Dome) deep in the mountains of Miyazaki, where the environment is unpolluted and the climate is warm, and are a rare pottery manufacturer that handles everything from cultivating the raw material, Moso bamboo, to producing bamboo charcoal and final product manufacturing.
The bamboo forest is JAS certified organic and is carefully cultivated using organic farming methods without the use of any pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Only thick moso bamboo that is four years old or older and rich in minerals is selected.
The carefully harvested bamboo is dried naturally for at least three months and then smoked for a week.
Charcoal is made using traditional earthen kilns, which are difficult to control the temperature of.
No gas or heavy oil is used as fuel, only natural firewood and bamboo are used, and the temperature inside the kiln is raised to 800-1000 degrees over the course of about a week.
The final process, called "nerashi" and "hitomitome," is the most important moment that determines the quality of the bamboo charcoal.
Our skilled charcoal makers sharpen their five senses in pursuit of the best possible finish.
We also relentlessly pursue quality and safety.
Based on the technology and scientific data cultivated through joint research with the University of Miyazaki and the Miyazaki Prefectural Industrial Technology Center, we conduct bacterial tests for each production lot and regular tests for harmful substances.
Our products meet the strict quality standards of famous department stores such as Isetan Mitsukoshi and Hankyu Hanshin Department Stores, and we also export to overseas countries such as France and Singapore.
We are also working to create sustainable Satoyama based on the SDGs.
We aim to protect the forest environment by purchasing bamboo harvested from abandoned bamboo forests from local farmers, and to achieve "zero emissions" by making full use of all by-products produced during the manufacturing process.
Bamboo charcoal powder from Takecharnosato is a blend of artisanal skill and respect for nature.
Please use this excellent product, which combines Japanese tradition with the latest quality control, as part of your daily health routine.
