Hikari Foods was founded in 1946.

We are committed to using organic and domestic ingredients from Tokushima Prefecture, and we create food that makes the most of the natural flavor of the ingredients without using any additives or chemical seasonings.

The current factory was completed in February 2000, following an invitation from Kamiita Town in Tokushima Prefecture, with the aim of becoming an "environmentally friendly factory" that is kind to both the environment and people.

With consideration for the environment, we have installed eco-friendly gas boilers, gas air conditioners, and solar power generation, which is a clean energy source. We have also installed water recycling systems such as cooling towers and wastewater treatment equipment that uses microbial activation treatment and hollow fiber membranes, and have obtained FSSC22000 food safety management system certification.

In order to minimize the amount of waste we produce, we compost vegetable and fruit peels and return that fertilizer to the fields.
