[Special price to celebrate the renewal] The 2025 edition of JHB Purple Root Lip Balm is now complete!
This lip balm was so popular that it sold out, but we've added another step to the manufacturing process to make it even smoother and more comfortable to wear. (The formula remains the same.)
As a token of our appreciation for your continued patronage, we are offering the JHB Balm series at 10% off the regular price until November 30th.

It is made by blending beeswax from rare Japanese honeybees with the purple root of the endangered Japanese purple flower and pigments extracted from Hokkaido beet root, resulting in a product that is expected to have moisturizing properties as well as keep skin healthy.

When we approached SORRY KOUBOU about this collaboration, they replied with big smiles, "Actually, we're currently growing Japanese purple flowers.
" We received a surprising suggestion:
The root part of the Japanese murasakia (Japanese purple), a perennial plant that is fixed in Japan and is also mentioned in the Manyoshu, is called "purple root" and has been especially prized among materials for purple dye as it is a noble color that can only be used by the emperor and nobles.
Japanese purple is a plant that has been used for medicinal purposes and dyeing since ancient times.
Along with safflower and indigo, which are also used as medicinal herbs, it is considered one of Japan's three major pigments.
However, despite its long history, cultivation techniques have not yet been established, and even when cultivated, the harvest rate is only around 5%.
Moreover, because it prefers cool climates, the number of plants growing has drastically decreased in recent years due to environmental changes caused by global warming, and it has become a precious plant designated as an endangered species by the Ministry of the Environment.

Due to issues such as cross-breeding with the invasive species, Western purple, it is difficult to obtain pure Japanese purple, but for this collaboration, they were generous enough to provide us with the purple roots of the Japanese purple they had grown.
By the way, most of the purple root currently used in medicines is an exotic species, imported from China or Korea.
In Japan, only a small amount of it is grown for use as a dye.
The medicinal properties of purple root are amazing, and it can help restore dry, oily, sensitive, and other troubled skin to a normal, stable state, reducing dullness and blemishes and promoting smooth, beautiful skin.
As a moisturizing beauty ingredient, it is expected to have the effect of speeding up the recovery of rough skin and pimples.

JHB Lip Balm (Japanese Honey Beewax Lip Balm) can be used not only on the lips but also on the cheeks, and can be applied directly to bare skin to add a healthy glow.
It does not go on as thick as lipstick, so please use it only as a way to improve the appearance of your complexion even when you are not wearing makeup.

(Right side) Same series JHB Balm (Japanese Honey Beewax Balm) Can be used on any area where dryness is a concern, including the face, lips, hands, and hair.
Beeswax has long been used for moisturizing and protective purposes and may help keep skin soft.
In addition, because it has a natural emulsifying effect, it smooths the entire product and evenly disperses other oils and ingredients without the need for the addition of artificial surfactants or emulsifiers.
And by adding safflower root extract and Hokkaido beet root extract, it's a formula that allows people of all skin tones to enjoy natural coloring.
The oils included are jojoba seed oil, which is said to be rich in vitamin E, shea butter, which is easily absorbed into the skin and helps moisturize, and bergamot fruit oil (phototoxicity-free), which has a soothing and refreshing scent.
All of the ingredients are certified organic and safe to ingest.
Of course, we also add rare beeswax from Japanese honeybees to this, making this a one-of-a-kind product.

When we sent the Japanese honeybee beeswax we received from Satabezuka to SORRY KOUBOU, a professional organic cosmetics maker, he commented, "This is the first scent I've ever smelled!
I was surprised by the wonderful scent!
"We received comments such as:

The Satabezuka region of the Osumi Peninsula, where this beeswax is harvested, is home to evergreen broad-leaved forests that have remained virtually untouched by human hands for over 100 years, and is a rich natural environment where a wide variety of medicinal herbs once planted by the Satsuma Domain grow wild.
Japanese honeybees fly freely in this area, collecting nectar from a variety of flowers, fruits, medicinal herbs, and wild plants. They are very sensitive to environmental changes, such as trace amounts of pesticides, and will leave their hives if the environment does not suit them.
Beeswax grown in such pristine natural environments is characterized by its high purity and fine texture.
Furthermore, unlike European honeybees, Japanese honeybees are said to not produce propolis, and it is thought that this is related to the low artificial stress environment.
JHB Lip Balm is made in this special environment using rare ingredients.
This collaboration between two ancient Japanese species was truly miraculous.
This product is the culmination of my desire to "make products using only organic ingredients without additives" and SORRY KOUBOU's philosophy of pursuing the creation of natural cosmetics.
No fragrances or chemical additives are used.
After many prototypes were made, the balm was finally completed.

It's been about six years since I started skin fasting.
After returning to Japan last winter, I was plagued by dryness, wrinkles, and rough skin.
Also, as someone who normally never wears makeup, I was looking for an ingredient that would improve the complexion of my face and that I could wear without any problems when going out for a short time. I still remember how excited I was when SORRY KOUBOU offered to provide me with the root of the Japanese purple plant, which they had grown themselves.
Over the past few months, I've been trying it out, wearing it every night before going to bed, and I haven't noticed any pigmentation. In fact, the more I use it, the more lustrous my lips and cheeks become. It's become an indispensable item for me all seasons.
Even though I have sensitive skin, I hardly felt any irritation, and the more I continued to use it, the more I could feel the wonderful effects of the purple root extract.
I think older women who rarely wear makeup would be very happy to receive this as a gift.
Try applying it to areas where you are concerned about blemishes or wrinkles.
You will be able to experience the comfort of a naturally derived balm.
It comes in a convenient 5g size that can be easily consumed.
The packaging is made of paper, so we have taken the environment into consideration by allowing you to dispose of it as burnable waste once you have finished using it.
It is not a pull-out type but a push-out type from below.
It may feel stiff in cold climates or during winter.
In that case, use a hair dryer to gently heat it for a few seconds to soften it before using.
The size is easy to use, whether you apply it directly or spread it with your fingers.
It is also convenient to carry when traveling.
It's easy to incorporate into your daily skincare routine, and you can keep it in your pouch as a reliable item to use quickly when you need it.
Why not aim for healthy skin and create a vibrant look even without makeup?
A natural balm that moisturizes dry lips and cheeks.

This is a video of me attending the honey harvest, which is done only once a year to produce the beeswax used here.
Jojoba seed oil
This oil is extracted by cold pressing jojoba seeds.
The wax esters contained in the oil penetrate the stratum corneum, providing a barrier function and enhancing moisturizing effects.
It has the effect of adjusting the sebum balance, making it a versatile oil that can be used by both oily and dry skin types.
Certified organic (ECOSERT).
Beeswax
We only use beeswax from Japanese honeybees harvested in the Satabezuka area of Kagoshima Prefecture.
