How is it possible to remove oil from 100% cotton fabric using only water?
The secret lies in how the thread is spun .

When you look at the fibers of this product under a microscope, you can see that they are extremely fine and fluffy, floating in the air.
This soft fluff is gentle on the skin, yet still effectively removes dirt .

The average size of a pore is said to be about 0.2 mm.
Cotton fibers are 0.012~0.028mm. They are thinner and softer than pores.
.
Below is a close-up comparison of fibers spun using conventional spinning methods (left) and the fibers of this product (right).
The fibers, which contain plenty of air, gently absorb water and oil, entangling them with their fine fibers.

The real thing is simple. It is a Japanese spinning technique that has been secretly handed down since the Meiji period, and it is as if cotton was turned into fabric as it is.
This body care product can remove moderate sebum and dirt using only water, without the need for soap , and restores the skin's natural balance.

The amount of sebum and sweat secreted varies by part of the human body, and the ease with which dirt accumulates also varies depending on the amount of daily activity. Therefore, it is not necessary to wash the whole body with soap or body wash every day to remove dirt and odor.
Additionally, areas that are particularly prone to stinking or accumulating dirt , or areas with hardened skin , tend to be scrubbed with an exfoliating towel or exfoliating brush, which can result in unnecessary over-washing .
Washing too much, such as removing too much oil using surfactants or peeling the skin's surface with excessive friction , can make the skin unable to retain moisture, leading to dryness.

In fact, the cause of body odor may be excess sebum due to dry skin .
It is common to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, but this can sometimes have the opposite effect.

This product is a new type of body care material that is made of 100% cotton and can remove a moderate amount of sebum with just water . Because it can be washed with just water, you can avoid over-washing with surfactants from soap or body wash.
Customers who have been using the same fabric to wash their face have commented:
"My skin no longer feels dry "
"My skin gets dry if I wash it too much with soap, but since I started using this product, my skin has become smooth ."
We have received many comments like this.

"Organic cotton" generally refers to cotton grown on farmland that has not used pesticides for the past three years.
This product meets even higher standards and is made from 100% cotton grown on farmland where pesticides have never been used in the past.
"Using pesticides will damage the soil. Using fertilizer will attract insects, and you'll have to use pesticides again. If you don't use pesticides, you can grow big cotton plants, and microorganisms will also grow in the soil." This is the belief that the villagers hold dear.

Using a spinning machine that was invented during the Meiji period and has been passed down through the generations, the yarn is spun slowly and manually, taking more than 100 times longer than modern mass-production spinning.
This slowly spun yarn produces fibres that are full of air, which is the key to their ability to absorb water and oil.

(Spinning process)
For general cotton products, even those labeled as organic cotton, some chemicals are used as part of the manufacturing process to condition the surface of the fibers and fabric.
However, this product does not contain any chemicals or other drugs.
In order to preserve the texture of the cotton itself and reduce the environmental impact, we have devised manufacturing methods that do not use chemicals such as boiling, thereby maintaining quality.

(Part of the manufacturing process)
This product is entirely sewn in Japan. Although it may look simple, it is actually different from normal sewing in that the fabric used for this product is loosely woven, meaning that the fabric is prone to unraveling and cannot be re-sewn.
Each product is handcrafted by a skilled seamstress with 40 years of experience.

(Sewing process)
By accumulating these detailed attentions and taking more than 100 times longer than mass production, we are able to deliver natural, water-only cotton towels that are gentle on the skin and the environment, as they are made from the fluff itself.
Generally, when cotton is mass-produced, only fibers (mainly long fibers) that can withstand the high-speed machines can be made into yarn and fabric, and cotton that cannot be spun successfully is discarded.
On the other hand, the yarn used in this product is finished slowly over time, so fibers (mainly short fibers) that would be discarded in mass production can be spun softly, and no cotton is wasted.
We are also particular about reducing waste at the sewing stage. We calculated the width of the fabric, adjusted it in 5mm increments, and developed the size and shape to avoid scraps, and after repeated experiments, we found a size that is easy to use for both men and women with different hand sizes, quick drying, and comfort.
Reducing material waste is not only environmentally friendly, but it also allows us to lower the prices so that our products are more affordable for our customers, allowing us to deliver products that can be used continuously in everyday life and that many people can pick up.
At first glance, it may just look like fabric...
We would like to put our time and effort into delivering this product so that it can be used by many people in a variety of situations.

For many years, we have recommended the Watana series as a must-have product for those who are undergoing a skin fasting, shampoo-free, and surfactant-free lifestyle.
In particular, we recommend wearing body mittens on both hands and washing your hair without shampoo.
By not using shampoo, the manager himself has improved his seborrheic dermatitis. For more details, please read the related blog article below.
*Lukewarm water removes dirt with less effort than cold water.
After use, wash and dry in a well-ventilated place.
・This product has not been treated with chemicals, so cotton leaves and stems may remain. Also, because washing is kept to a minimum during the manufacturing process, some oil from the cotton itself remains and some parts may have a yellowish tinge, but this will gradually fade with washing.
・Due to the oil content of the cotton, it will repel water easily at first. You can continue to use it as is, or boil it to make it more water-resistant.
If you experience a rash or itchiness while using this product, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
Q: Is the body towel long enough for a man to use?
A: It is 90cm long, so it can be used by the average man.

Q: What is the replacement period?
A: The replacement cycle depends on how you use it, but we recommend replacing it every three months. Our staff has been using the first prototype every day for about a year, and it looks like it can last a little longer.
Q: I don't feel like I can wash it with just water. Can I use soap?
A: There is no problem with washing with soap. If you apply soap or body wash, it will feel smooth on your skin, and we recommend using it for that feeling. If you want to try it out, try washing with just water. Many people find it comfortable once they get used to it.
