The surface is coated with urethane, making it stain-resistant and washable.
Kamachigumi technique
The mat uses the same "frame" structure that is also used in paulownia chests, and a unique dimensional design born from years of research minimizes the shrinkage and warping of the paulownia wood. This results in a placemat that is both thin and durable.
