Healthy Recipes

This is a nostalgic photo from when I spent New Year's at home in Taipei in 2022.

The white thing in the glass container shown here is homemade tofu.

Today I'll show you how to make it.

How to make homemade tofu using snow salt

Here's what you need to prepare:

  • Heat-resistant glass container
  • 200ml unsweetened soy milk (choose a thick one)
  • Snow salt 2g

How to make it

1. Put thick soy milk into a heat-resistant glass and add snow salt, stirring well to dissolve.

2. Fill a Vermicular Rice Pot with about 3cm of water and heat it to 80°C.

③When it reaches 80 degrees, cover the heat-resistant glass with aluminum foil, place in a Vermicular Rice Pot and heat for 50 minutes.

④After 50 minutes, remove from the oven, let cool and then place in the refrigerator to chill.

⑤Once it has solidified, your additive-free snow salt tofu is ready.

When I lived in Taipei, there was a lot of delicious soy milk sold around town, so I used to make and eat it often.

By the way, being a salt nerd, I tried using various kinds of salt. Nuchimasu, Aguni salt, Soya salt, etc. But for some reason, I could only make it with Yukishio salt.

It's not just bittern, it's salt, so it does taste a little salty. It's delicious even without adding anything, and I recommend it because you can also get natural minerals from it.

If you use a regular pot, be careful with the heat.

This is additive-free tofu that is healthy for your body. Please try making it at home.
