I didn't focus on osechi (traditional New Year's dishes), but instead ate whatever I liked to welcome the new year. On New Year's Eve, I enjoyed wild bluefin tuna and yellowtail, and on New Year's Day, I enjoyed Chikuzenni and high-quality kamaboko. My husband and I spent New Year's Eve as we normally would.
